We are seeking an experienced

Industrial HMI Engineer

to design, develop, and maintain human‑machine interface (HMI) systems for complex industrial and process automation environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

Architect and implement new HMI applications using FactoryTalk View SE (distributed and standalone configurations).

Configure and optimize FactoryTalk Linx, FactoryTalk Directory, and RSLinx Enterprise communications.

Develop P&ID‑based process screens, navigation structures, alarm banners, and trend displays.

Implement dynamic graphics, tag‑based visibility, security‑based user interfaces, and custom scripts.

Integration & Commissioning

Integrate HMI systems with Rockwell CompactLogix and ControlLogix PLCs via Ethernet/IP.

Coordinate with PLC programmers to map tags, alarms, and state/mode logic.

Support HMI deployment on operator workstations and thin clients (Terminal Services, VMWare, or ThinManager environments).

Participate in site commissioning, FAT, and SAT testing of automation systems.

Operations & Support

Troubleshoot live HMI issues, alarms, and communications between PLCs, servers, and clients.

Perform system upgrades, backup management, and version control within FactoryTalk View SE.

Maintain documentation: tag lists, screen inventories, alarm configurations, and user manuals.

Ensure HMI systems meet ISA‑101, ISA‑18.2, and corporate HMI design standards for usability and safety.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work closely with process engineers, I&E technicians, and safety teams to represent real‑time plant data accurately.

Participate in safety system integration and interlock visualization.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

3–7 years of experience designing and deploying HMI/SCADA systems in an industrial setting.

Proven expertise with:

FactoryTalk View SE (Site Edition)

FactoryTalk Linx / RSLinx Enterprise

Rockwell CompactLogix or ControlLogix PLCs

Experience with Ethernet/IP networks, data servers, and CIP tag addressing.

Strong understanding of industrial processes (e.g., power generation, chemical, nuclear, or thermal systems).

Familiarity with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and industrial network segmentation.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of FactoryTalk View ME, PanelView Plus, and ThinManager.

Experience with OPC‑UA/DA, SQL data logging, or historian systems (FactoryTalk Historian, OSIsoft PI).

Experience following ISA‑106 (Procedural Automation for Continuous Process Operations).

Understanding of safety systems integration (SIL‑rated loops, interlocks, trip displays).

Strong scripting skills in VBA or structured text for custom HMI logic.

Exposure to virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper‑V) and redundant SCADA servers.

Attributes

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving mindset.

Ability to work independently and collaborate cross‑functionally with process, electrical, and safety teams.

Comfortable working in high‑reliability industrial environments with strict configuration control.
