The position is responsible for organizing complex components and assemblies for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineered products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for performing engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives. Responsible for generating bills of materials for all product designs utilizing conventional types of plans and specifications. Responsible for generating wiring schematics and control cabinet layouts for hoist equipment. Performs design calculations and prepares equipment or material specifications. Creates/describes design procedures and specifications leading to construction documents. Estimates production times and related costs to provide information for management/commercial decisions. Responsible for supporting the Operations Team by developing manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building, assembling, and installing components. Transitions products from product development to production. Support other functions (Quality, Sales, etc.) in order to satisfy customer needs and resolve issues. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities Ability to create designs using relevant design software. Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming assembly and installation processes. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly productive environment where projects and direction can change quickly while creating thorough and detailed designs and documentation. Skilled in interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form. Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate in individual and group settings. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Understanding of National Electric Code (NEC) and other related electrical design specifications. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience AutoCAD and/or Solidworks experience required. Experience with electro-mechanical systems or hoists desired.
