Responsibilities
Leads with a Safety-First mindset and works to facilitate a Safety-First culture.
Serves as a champion and ensures adherence to HPS (Hormel Production System) in the facility.
Supervises and trains production Team Leaders to assure the production of products/services meets daily production schedules.
Develops short-term and long-range production plan schedules to meet the needs of sales and assures the ordering of raw materials and/or supplies required for scheduling production in the assigned area.
Assures the production of products/services meets quality objectives.
Achieves labor efficiency and utilization objectives, standard yield objectives, safety objectives, production cost objectives, and sanitation/housekeeping objectives.
Assures HACCP and other food safety initiatives are implemented to Hormel and USDA expectations.
Provides vacation relief for Team Leaders and Operations Managers Supervisors and Operations Managers.
Performs project work as assigned by their Senior Operations Manager.
Leads VRO initiatives and ensures the reporting team is identifying/acting on them as well.
Qualifications Required
A bachelor's degree or equivalent in relevant industry experience.
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Proven track record of results in plant supervision.
A pattern of initiative and leadership.
Strong problem-solving, decision making, and project management skills.
Highly developed interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States

The base hiring pay range for the Manager of Plant Engineering role is between $84,800 - $118,800 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
