Overview
Field Service Technician at Oil States International. Primary responsibilities include installing, repairing, operating, removing, troubleshooting, and maintaining company tools and equipment; working on customer sites; and supporting service delivery as directed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Abides by all Oil States Energy Services, LLC Safety and Operational Policies and Procedures, and DOT requirements. Understands and complies with safety rules and company policies. Abides by all Customer Safety policies and procedures on customer job sites. Installs, repairs, operates, removes, troubleshoots, and maintains various company tools and equipment. Drives and operates mobile crane trucks, pickups, and trailers to deliver tools, up to 70% of the time depending on district location. Safely drives company vehicles between districts and off-site locations at scheduled times, adhering to company and government regulations. Inspects company equipment for preventative maintenance; ensures proper operation and documentation of repairs and damages in a timely manner. Completes required paperwork promptly, including job reports, driving logs, trip reports, and call sheets. Performs maintenance and reports on all company vehicles and owned or rental equipment. Communicates with service company and oil company personnel; may oversee job-site services and direct onsite labor when needed. Assists in job action planning with customers on location and ensures proper delivery of product. Assists in the shop and makes deliveries when available. Maintains up-to-date training (including HSE, customer-requiredTraining) and mentors less experienced employees. Assists in pre-job safety meetings, including review of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) processes. Maintains open lines of communication with District Manager and Operations District before, during, and after job completion; informs management of area activities and attends required meetings. Maintains communication with customers regarding job updates, tool procedures, and site hazards. Learns SOPs and work instructions for respective product lines; learns hand signals for crane operation and vehicle operations. Completes product line knowledge testing to progress to the next level. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficient with a computer and Microsoft Office software. Ability to work and drive in all weather conditions; ability to travel to other facilities if required. Ability to think quickly in emergency situations on job sites; operate hand tools; basic math and algebra skills; mechanical aptitude. Familiar with field concepts, practices, and procedures; able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and manuals. Ability to handle problems involving several variables in standardized situations; familiar with tools and equipment used by the company. Qualification Requirements
High School Diploma or GED. Willingness to travel extensively and be on call 24/7. Safe driving record as per company policy. Must pass pre- and post-employment drug and alcohol tests as per company policy. Certifications & Licenses
May require a Class A CDL driver’s license; maintain a current DOT medical card at all times. Valid Driver’s License. Physical Requirements
Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; larger lifts may require assistance or lifting devices. Requires pushing/pulling up to 140 pounds of force, bending, standing, kneeling, carrying, sitting, and climbing for extended periods.
