With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners. This opportunity is for the TxDOT SH 6 Widening Project in Bryan/College Station and/or future projects. The role entails providing daily inspection of multiple, routine activities within a given discipline/trade performed by the contractor in order to monitor the project’s compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract provisions. Maintains daily logs of inspection work which is assigned and reviews discrepancies or changes with Field Engineer.
What You’ll Do
Observe, document, and verify work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirm procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
Utilize engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
Maintain Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
Perform on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.
What You’ll Bring
Recognizes, resolves, and/or escalates discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
Interprets and understands schedules to provide feedback.
Understands standard testing requirements and methods used by TxDOT.
Operates relevant testing equipment to assigned duties.
Understands Microsoft Office Suite and other computer skills at an advanced level.
Calculates complex pay quantities.
Identifies, documents, and escalates change conditions.
May include night and weekend shifts.
What We Prefer
Range of experience 5-10 years.
Experience working in Site Manager.
