A Commissioning Project Engineer (CxPE) supports the delivery of data center capacity through managing project milestone auditing, calibration, and commissioning execution for new construction and Capital Improvement Projects (CIPP). This position is part of a career development program, which aims to develop the CxPE into a Commissioning Engineer (CxE) through a three-phase mentoring program. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll work with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. You’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion. Key job responsibilities Manage the creation of projects within internal Amazon systems. Manage the administrative tasks related to the commissioning process. Support the Request for Quote process, ensuring all relevant documentation is available for the commissioning vendors to provide a detailed quote. Manage the required vendor project deliverables ensuring on-time delivery for the CxE's review. Manage project resourcing ensuring all vendors comply with the Lead’s Qualification Process (LQP). Create and manage the approval of the Change Management requests for the commissioning activities of the assigned project. About The Team The AWS Data Center Commissioning Team (ACx) is a wholly independent business within the DCGS organization. This team includes Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Controls Engineers, Project Managers, and Operators focused on ensuring rapid delivery of a quality product while maintaining transparency and recording metrics of any defects discovered during commissioning. Basic Qualifications Experience in a data center or other critical environment Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 1 year of relevant discipline work experience Preferred Qualifications Experience in construction or project management 1+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $83,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
