Electrical Engineer – Ohio – Pharmaceuticals – Contract
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Electrical Engineer to join our major, global pharmaceutical client on their latest new-build project based in Ohio, this is a large-scale greenfield capital project and investing more than $1bn.
Responsibilities
Act as Owner’s Representative to ensure the Electrical Contractor’s work complies with plans, specifications, building codes, and quality standards. Oversee electrical installations including power distribution, lighting, grounding, fire alarm, and communication systems. Attend daily/weekly field coordination meetings with trades to resolve design discrepancies and integrate electrical systems with other disciplines. Document construction issues, RFIs, plan deviations, and corrective actions within the project’s documentation system. Monitor progress against the project schedule, proactively identifying risks and ensuring electrical work aligns with overall construction milestones. Conduct field inspections, witness testing, and ensure systems are commissioned to required standards prior to turnover.
Skills and Experience:
Experience as a Field Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or similar construction oversight role on large-scale capital projects ($250M+). Proven experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or other highly regulated industries. Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and best practices (NEC, NFPA, OSHA). Hands-on experience with power distribution systems, low and medium-voltage, and communication systems. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline.
