Job Overview As a member of the Digital Data Networks (DDN) business in TE Connectivity you will play a key role in the design of products for high-speed products in the connector, cable assembly, and/or radio system industry—targeting high-speed communications and connectivity within datacenters and wireless infrastructure. As a manager of Product Development Engineering in Signal Integrity (SI), you will lead a team of SI engineers in all aspects of electrical design, simulation, and verification-validation testing. You will be responsible for leading your team to successfully achieve business objectives in a dynamic business environment while fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and employee wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Manage and lead a team of regional/global signal integrity engineers in establishing signal integrity design performance and functional requirements for new products

Lead the team to perform signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards on each product, including selecting simulation methodologies and setup, and clarifying criteria for each interface

Guide the team in connector design and qualifications from a signal integrity standpoint with data-driven decisions about functionality and areas for improvement

Create actionable recommendations based on design reviews and simulation results

Lead the team in communicating actions and impacts clearly to stakeholders including management, customers, and the technical community

Align the technology roadmap with market trends and customer needs and implement accordingly

Drive a culture of innovation using traditional approaches and external knowledge to develop innovative solutions

Effectively lead a regional/global team of SI engineers with varying levels of experience and diverse backgrounds

Provide routine coaching, set and monitor performance objectives, and promote development to increase team capability

Prioritize employee well-being by managing workload and enabling work-life balance

Structure the organization to enable BU strategy, maximize resource efficiency, and provide role clarity and accountability

Identify skill gaps, plan for future talent needs, and ensure the right talent is matched to roles

What Your Background Should Look Like

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience; Master’s Degree preferred

Typically 13+ years of relevant experience in electrical/RF/PCB design

Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership and people management experience in a global environment

Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior

Expertise with signal integrity analysis tools (e.g., Agilent ADS, Ansys HFSS, CST, or equivalent)

Proficient with 3D CAD tools (SpaceClaim preferred, AutoCAD, Creo, or equivalent)

Experience with high-speed test equipment (VNA, TDR, BERT)

Experience with interconnect design or electronic packaging, with focus on high-speed differential connectors and/or cable assemblies, RF connectors, and channel integration

Proficient with PCB layout and design (Altium preferred), fabrication and assembly, especially as related to connector FP and card-edge interfaces

Proficient with data analysis, understanding geometry tolerance impacts, and HVM qualification

Analytical: able to interpret simulation and lab data to identify issues and provide solutions

Experience with physical layer communications systems and architectures

Fluent in English (verbal and written)

Ability to work in a global environment, accommodating varying time zones and collaborating across geographies

Strong problem-solving, proactive in identifying issues and driving improvements

Strong presentation skills for customers and upper management

Experience leading a team of 10+ professionals with accountability for performance, delivery, and resource allocation

Ability to build and lead a high-performing team, assess talent fit, and address skill gaps

Experience establishing and adhering to budgets, schedules, and work plans

Experience leading cross-functional new product development projects with collaboration and influence

Data analytics mindset to identify meaningful data and drive innovative solutions

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $177,800 – $266,600 (subject to change based on location)

Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentives + Benefits
