We are seeking an experienced Manager to help manage third‑party productions across unscripted and scripted live‑action programming, including large scale competition shows, docuseries aimed at family audiences, scripted series focused on Kids, tweens and teens, and Tween Original Musical Movies. Candidates must have unscripted and scripted live‑action experience as a producer, line producer, or production executive.
The core focus of this role will include studio management of large format series and long‑form projects. Responsibilities include selecting and vetting partner studios and companies; vetting key hires at the partner; creating the initial schedule and budget for the project; and managing all aspects of the production via our partner studios. This position will report to the Director of Animation Series Production in Los Angeles, CA.
Responsibilities
Work with Netflix Creative, Business Affairs, Communications, Labor, Policy partners & external production partners on slate schedules and workflows.
Support the production through various processes during the setup and execution of the project such as guidance on binding insurance, disseminating information to the studio, and uploading deliverable materials, creating and communicating complex information both internally and externally.
Work with executives, showrunners and line producers to prepare and vet show budgets and schedules, providing feedback on viability and risks.
Review creative/scripts & begin defining series production strategy and determine budget estimates from development to lock.
Track & manage costs with Finance, keeping stakeholders apprised of status.
Collaborate with internal teams (including Post and Localization) & external production teams to lock schedules.
Troubleshoot and communicate all changes to schedule and delivery.
Lead or assist with search and hire of key production staff.
Determine key vendors to accommodate creative vision, financing considerations, budget needs, location factors.
Assist with identification and curation of experienced, high‑quality production staff and crew.
Any duties as necessary to support the productions.
Qualifications
10 Years+ industry experience in physical production (some of which may be executive experience) and must have live‑action series experience.
Deep understanding of current production processes and innovations.
Ability to handle a fast‑paced environment simultaneously supervising several projects in various points of production (from development through delivery).
Familiar with the current trends and workflows including streaming deliverables.
Access to roster of high quality vendors and talent.
Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly.
Comfortable with travel.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask.
Proficiency in Movie Magic Scheduling and Budgeting and Google Workspace (including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Mail and Drive).
