Commercial HVAC Mechanical / Controls Project Engineer
Carrier Climate Solutions Transportation is seeking a Commercial HVAC Mechanical / Controls Project Engineer. The role involves establishing and managing project objectives, coordinating budgets and staffing, estimating project costs, gathering and analyzing data, preparing progress reports, coordinating project tasks with functional teams, and identifying project problems to ensure successful delivery.
Responsibilities
Advanced knowledge with BAS systems; Carrier i-Vu knowledge is a plus
Advanced skillset in BAS / controls programming
Programming of controls systems and implementing developed Sequence of Operations
Complete each assigned project focusing on customer satisfaction and specification compliance while maintaining budgetary guidelines
Partner with sales to set parameters for equipment needs and project timeline
Create submittals, read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets, controls and shop drawings
Document and track project completion with as-builts and final program notation with all field changes in collaboration with the Project Manager
Assemble Operation & Maintenance Manuals for completed projects
Utilize company and customer standard programs for designing graphic function blocks for assigned projects
Test project programs to ensure specified sequences of operation are met and aligned with industry standards
Inspect HVAC systems including point-to-point checks, determining proper operating ranges for field devices, and complete functional system checkouts
Conduct graphics engineering functions such as creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents
Submit material orders for project-required materials to the purchasing group
Some fieldwork with controllers and associated components alongside Controls Field Engineers
Assist in developing functional checkpoint lists for commissioning and related documentation, and coordinate with the Commissioning Agent

Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in Project Engineering/Management
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of computers, setup procedures, and networking systems
Previous experience in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
Working experience with Carrier i-Vu, Tridium or BACnet systems
Proficient with Microsoft Suite
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to HVAC/Control
Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation
