This role requires reporting to Orion, MI on a full-time basis. The Role:
The RESS Laser Weld Engineer will support battery process equipment implementation and operations, collaborating with shop floor personnel, working independently, and supporting GPS product integration in a vehicle assembly plant. What You'll Do: Promote and follow safety initiatives Support shift rotations and communicate status Participate in equipment installation and process meetings Support equipment debugging and launch activities Develop and train operators for battery manufacturing Analyze design and tooling issues for quality improvements Support GMS activities and lead TIP in the battery assembly area Required Qualifications: 5+ years manufacturing experience Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university or equivalent experience Strong process engineering knowledge Willingness to work weekends, overtime, and rotate shifts Ability to travel approximately 25% domestically and internationally Preferred Qualifications: Experience with automotive product launches Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field About GM:
