Description Team Fishel, the Best Choice Employer in the utility construction business and network installation business, is looking to hire Survey Crew Leaders to operate out of our Columbus, Ohio Surveying & Engineering division. This division is part of Team Fishel's Professional Service Group (PSG). The purpose of a Survey Crew Leader at Team Fishel is to assist the engineering group on projects by performing all related work to conducting surveys, including performing complex survey duties; survey crew supervision when required, researching historical documentation, surveying, and measuring points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, map-making, land division, and titles.
Responsibilities
Accurately run and adjust survey measuring instruments including level, transit, theodolite, electronic measuring devices, and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities.
Performs mathematical calculations.
Takes accurate and clear notes and note reduction.
Reads and understands plans and specifications.
Know basic sources of measurement errors.
Know principles of staking and marking.
Performs other duties as assigned.
R equirements & Qualifications
Valid driver's license required.
Able to operate and train others in the use of survey equipment including conventional and electronic instruments and computers (hardware and software, such as GPS)
Computer experience is desired.
Must be proficient with MS Word and Excel.
Possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills.
Must be able and willing to travel.
Bilingual English/Spanish experience is a plus
