$37.50/hr - $56.25/hr $2,500 sign-on bonus! Major Responsibilities

Accountable for the positioning and immobilization of patients and proper selection of technical factors along with computer reformatting of acquired data to obtain magnetic resonance scans procedures of optimal quality. Initiates IVs for administration of contrast media for MRI enhancement in accordance with departmental policy and utilizing universal precautions in the process. Archives images onto optical disks. Follows MRI workflow including networking of images to PACS and verifying studies. Selects appropriate technical factors on an individual patient and procedural basis to provide optimal quality examinations. Performs post processing of computer data to enhance data and image information. Operates support equipment for MRI, such as independent workstation, additional disk drives, pressure injector, PACS. Transfers patients to and from MRI scanning table and prepares patient for examination by explaining procedure and answering questions. Obtains documentation for department records related to patient statistics, supplies, patient billing information and preservation of patient records. Documents any allergic reaction or incident report regarding staff or patient situations; provides timely information for inventory of supplies; ensures films are properly identified and numbered for accurate interpretation by radiologist; assists in scheduling of examinations and documenting complete information. Documents confidential patient history to ensure appropriateness of patient for examination and documents patient charge data, modifying and initiating charges as procedures are modified per radiologist. Secures pertinent history from patient, chart or family member to provide radiologist with adequate information for examination interpretation; fills out, signs and dates all required forms. Maintains compliance with Accrediting Organization and department safety standards to ensure patient and staff well-being; maintains magnetic and radiation safety standards, fire safety standards, Code Blue knowledge, disaster/evacuation/quench policies, infection safety standards, and documentation of equipment malfunctions and monthly coil checks; attends mandatory in-services and promotes patient safety. Keeps abreast of current magnetic resonance and radiological skills and new developments; attends in-services and educational seminars and may instruct other technologists and students when required. Maintains good relations with internal and external customers (staff, physicians, ancillary departments, inpatients/outpatients, family members). Education/Experience Required

2 yrs Radiology or MRI program graduate; ARRT or ARMRIT; 1 hour annually in stroke care Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Basic knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and usual MRI procedures ARRT Registry or ARMRIT; CPR Certification; MRI Certification preferred or within 12 months of hire into position (ARRT only) Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to work overtime when required; weekend rotation and flexible hours; attends additional educational and safety in-services; ability to respond to work at short notice. Exposed to radiation; ability to operate portable equipment; ability to deal with extremely ill patients; ability to communicate with patients; ability to adjust to flexible work hours; ability to work weekends, holidays and emergency call-back; on-call availability. Ability to perform lifting up to 35 pounds without assistance; patient handling equipment used for heavier lifts; safety compliant in case-by-case scenarios; may be exposed to hazardous chemicals (e.g., film processing). Prior experience with various age groups preferred; must recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups.
