Responsibilities

Review and update system specifications to ensure that new equipment meets business requirements.

Review machine quotes, prints, approval drawings, and control logic programming to ensure adherence to specifications and process requirements.

Participate in equipment build process and runoffs to ensure proper system function and adherence to specifications.

Develop, procure, implement, and support system infrastructure that will be used to communicate between factory floor equipment and business systems.

Support the training of operations’ maintenance, quality, and production personnel responsible for supporting equipment.

Support continuous improvement activities within the assembly and test processes.

Investigate system trends and suggest modifications that provide business benefit.

Education

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.

Required

Experience with Allen-Bradley PAC/PLC control systems.

Experience with programming of Allen-Bradley HMIs.

Experience with device communication networks including Allen-Bradley DH+, DeviceNet, RIO, Ethernet IP, etc.

Experience with the development, implementation, and support of industrial control systems that perform control, monitoring, data acquisition, logging, and alarming functions.

Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, both in troubleshooting and design.

Project management skills and experience involving complex projects.

Experience monitoring & controlling capital budgets.

Ability to diagnose/troubleshoot any controls system when required, regardless of having prior knowledge or experience.

Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays as project work requires.

Willingness to be on call on a rotational basis.

Preferred

2 years of experience within manufacturing.

Experience with drive systems, specifically Allen-Bradley.

Experience with Allen-Bradley/Cisco industrial networking.

Experience with Fanuc robotics programming.

Experience with vision systems used in assembly process.

Experience with electric nutrunner fastening systems, specifically Atlas Copco.

RFID system experience, specifically Balluff.

Knowledge of best practices in automotive and equipment manufacturing.

Familiar with lean manufacturing principles for machining and assembly operations.
