Overview
As a
Multi-Unit Team Leader
at
H&R Block , you will lead three tax offices, guiding customer‑centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business. You will be the front‑line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving office growth objectives across three offices. Prior tax preparation experience is not required. The role is in‑person and not remote; you will travel between offices as needed. A flexible part‑time schedule starts in the fall with a transition to full‑time January–April, including evening and weekend hours as needed.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and lead customer‑centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business.
Serve as the front‑line manager responsible for leadership and development of associates, delivering an outstanding client experience, and achieving all office growth objectives for three tax offices.
Start a flexible part‑time schedule in the fall; transition to full‑time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed. This role is in‑person and not remote.
Travel between offices as required.
Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
What you’ll bring to the team
Manage office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders.
Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office‑level growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement.
Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions.
Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center to resolve associate issues and address performance concerns.
Build an engaging team environment across all offices by training and coaching associates and recognizing outstanding contributions.
Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates.
Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management for associates in all offices.
Travel between offices as required.
Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment.
Your Expertise
People management experience with the ability to grow and develop associates.
Demonstrated aptitude for growth plan execution and leading a growth culture.
Strong decision‑making and judgment skills; able to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a customer‑centric mindset to understand and exceed client needs.
Computer proficiency with the ability to use MS Office.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a high school diploma with equivalent experience.
Successful completion of the
H&R Block
Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
