We have a great opportunity for a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer to join our Columbus, Ohio office and be part of the Geotechnics Group for the Midwest region. As a Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to follow projects from concept through construction, working on current and upcoming design-bid-build and design-build projects in highways, rail, water, environmental, ports, and advanced facilities sectors. By joining our practice you’ll be responsible for leading geotechnical aspects associated with the design of shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, and slope stabilizing measures. You will also be responsible for coordination and generation of geotechnical-based specifications and preparation of data, baseline, and interpretative reports. Final candidate could be located in Columbus, Cleveland or Cincinnati, OH, with Columbus preferred. Responsibilities

Lead geotechnical aspects for the design of shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, and slope stabilization measures. Coordinate and generate geotechnical specifications and prepare data, baseline, and interpretative reports. Follow projects from concept through construction on design-bid-build and design-build projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across highways, rail, water, environmental, ports, and advanced facilities sectors. Qualifications

BS in Civil or Geological Engineering 5-10 years of geotechnical consulting experience Professional Engineering (PE) license Experience with ODOT projects and standards Ability and willingness to visit and safely navigate construction and project sites and comply with all applicable safety codes and requirements Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience with exploration methods, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring, and laboratory testing of soil and rock Knowledge of the process to design shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and slope improvement Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, and specifications Proficient with Microstation and/or AutoCAD Familiarity with computer programs for geotechnical analyses, such as SLIDE, SETTLE3D, LPILE, APILE, Shaft, FB Multipier, DeepEx, and GRLWEAP Ideally you’ll also have

MS with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred) Benefits
