Responsibilities

We have a great opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Morristown, New Jersey / New York offices and be part of the Geotechnical Group for the Northeast region. As an entry to mid-level Geotechnical Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to follow projects from concept through construction, working on current and upcoming design-bid-build and design-build projects in highways, rail, water, environmental, ports and maritime, and advanced facilities sectors. Key duties include leading geotechnical aspects associated with the design of: Shallow and deep foundations Earth retaining structures Slope stabilization measures Liquefaction mitigation and ground improvement You will also be responsible for coordination and generation of geotechnical-based drawings and specifications, and preparation of data, baseline, and interpretative reports. Qualifications

Skills and knowledge required include, but are not limited to: Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience in field assignments observing explorations (soil and rock borings, test pits, CPT soundings, geophysical testing) and laboratory testing of soils and rock Knowledge of the process to design shallow and deep foundations, earth retaining structures, embankment and cut slopes, and slope stabilization Design and installation of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring; inspection of earth retaining structures, deep foundations inspection and testing (drilled shafts, driven piles), shallow foundations, and trenchless pipe installation Preparation of technical reports, design drawings, and specifications Experience with Plaxis is a plus BS in Civil Engineering; MS with concentration in Geotechnical Engineering (preferred) Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred) Benefits and compensation

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and other factors including job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Additional information
