Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee indirect materials operations at our client facility. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory operations, and ensuring efficient dock receiving, shipping, and material movement processes. The successful candidate will lead daily operations while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise indirect materials operations team and manage daily attendance tracking Oversee dock receiving, shipping, and material inventory processes Conduct daily team meetings and provide coaching to employees Review and approve time clock entries for payroll processing Monitor and resolve operational issues with Dock/Crib/MRP processes Inventory & Materials Management
Execute daily scanning operations using scan sheets Create shipping documentation for outbound materials Conduct part lookups for customer requirements Follow up on open purchase orders and non-conformance issues Ensure completion of annual cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracy Support MRP Planner and WRA Coordinator functions Reporting & Communication
Compile and distribute End of Shift (EOS) reports Maintain and update Level 4/5 BPD boards and IMM OT Equalization sheets Process monthly shipper requests (Libra/Crystal Water) Review Unsourced Templates from MRP before sending to IML Attend weekly JLL BPD reviews and monthly staff meetings Quality & Compliance
Conduct SIF/GCTA reviews with team members Complete layered audits with team members Review and update standardized work procedures Complete required annual training programs Process 2209 movement documentation Stakeholder Management
Attend weekly IMM meetings with IML Coordinate with UAW representatives on current events Address Crystal Water/Aramark operational issues Conduct weekly TIS reviews with team Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required 3+ years of supervisory experience in warehouse/materials management operations 2+ years of experience in indirect materials or MRO inventory management Technical Skills
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software Experience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems Knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures and documentation Familiarity with barcode scanning systems and inventory tracking Leadership & Communication
Proven ability to supervise and develop team members Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience conducting performance reviews and employee coaching Ability to facilitate meetings and present information clearly Operational Skills
Understanding of dock operations, shipping, and receiving processes Knowledge of inventory control principles and cycle counting procedures Experience with purchase order management and supplier coordination Familiarity with non-conformance and quality control processes Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Advanced Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or industrial environment Experience with union workforce management Certification in inventory management (APICS, CPIM) or supply chain management Technical Expertise
Advanced proficiency with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems Experience with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies Familiarity with safety management and OSHA compliance Industry Knowledge
Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing industries Understanding of indirect materials and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) categories Knowledge of contract logistics and client facility management Experience with vendor management and supplier relationship development Leadership Capabilities
Experience managing teams of 10+ employees Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with budget management and cost control initiatives
