Senior Water Project Manager
in Tampa, Florida, to support our growing team. This position focuses on technical solutions in utility design, including water treatment, site development, conveyance, groundwater supply, and underground injection projects. Wastewater treatment and conveyance is a plus. The role involves designing and analyzing engineering projects, managing tasks, and developing new business opportunities, with most work concentrated in Central and South Florida. Your Impact Experience includes water treatment facilities, water transmission/distribution projects, water storage, groundwater wells, and master planning. Demonstrated design and construction experience for small to large water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects, with accountability for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards. Maintain and grow relationships with an extensive base of long-term municipal clients. Support business development activities: client engagement, opportunity identification, team formation, proposal preparation, presentation, and project execution. Develop and inform proposal and project scopes, timelines, pricing, and budgetary metrics; plan, develop, and manage projects in compliance with City/State/Federal codes and regulations and sound engineering practice. Perform engineering review of permit applications, design plans and specifications, standby plans, contracts, management plans, and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and quality. Lead engineering projects: manage budgets, track hours and expenses, supervise subcontractors and staff, and ensure timely completion. Identify and address design quality issues and support continuous improvement in quality processes. Collaborate with professionals from various disciplines to provide trusted-advisor solutions for clients. Exercise ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources; adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and policies. Mentor staff to support growth and professional development; commit to safety program. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Water Resources or related fields. 10+ years of experience in an engineering office focusing on wastewater infrastructure design (sewers, pump stations, wastewater treatment) and water infrastructure (water treatment, distribution, pump stations, storage). Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements. Project management experience with mid-level projects including tracking hours and expenses. Professional Engineering License (PE) in Florida. Ability to work independently and in a team, with capability to delegate and supervise tasks. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including pipe networks; WaterCAD, SewerCAD, HydroCAD, Revit and/or Plant 3D are a plus. Strong writing and oral communication skills for technical reporting. Demonstrated client relationship and project management experience. Ability to perform field work and some travel; valid US driver’s license; ability to pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening. Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies. Flexibility to various schedules and ability to adapt to a high-pressure environment; occasional travel may be required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree is a plus.
