Competitive base + performance bonus, based on experience. Responsibilities
Lead and direct all seed processing, testing, quality control, and seed storage within the Southeast US region. Provide direction, oversight, and training for the White City site and staff (4 direct reports). Play a key role in integration of the acquired seed company, ensuring seamless transition. Ensure safety compliance during all seed processing and field activities. Direct and supervise wild seed collections across Southeast and other regions. Build and maintain a robust network of seed acquisition operations, develop relationships with landowners and manage government bidding. Oversee entire seed processing cycle, including cone/seed drying, cleaning, and preparation for long‑term frozen storage. Collaborate with personnel in nurseries, orchards, and sales, assign team resources as needed. Manage financial performance, including developing and overseeing a significant purchasing budget. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for seed operations. Qualifications
10+ years of related operations and leadership experience. Proven expertise in budgeting and financial analysis, managing large financial datasets. Success as a Relationship Builder, developing networks with external partners like landowners or government agencies. Strong planning, organization, and time management skills. Proficiency in MS‑Excel, MS‑Word, and MS‑Outlook. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Forestry. Experience in seed sourcing, processing, testing is a strong asset. Experience with conifer seed or transferable skills in viability, storage, and cleaning of other seed products is highly valued. Working Conditions
Based in West Verbena, Alabama. Requires frequent travel (up to 40% annually) across Southeast and other regions. Work time split between indoor office/processing plant environments and outdoors in forest settings under varying weather. Physical demands: lift light to medium weight objects, walking at operational sites. Exposure to machinery, equipment, pesticides. Next Steps
