The Occupational Therapist Outpatient professional provides direct and indirect services to specific age groups in outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Sports Med & Rehab Department. Accepts the responsibility to practice autonomously and collaboratively in all practice environments to provide best practice to the patient/client. Autonomous practice is characterized by independent, self-determined, professional judgment and action. The Value You\'ll Bring To The Team
Determines Occupational Therapy Diagnosis and establishes plan of care, make recommendations for referral if treatment needed outside of scope of Occupational Therapist practice. Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills, activities of daily living skills and evaluate muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems. Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patients needs. Monitors patients response and progress to treatment and modifies treatment plan as appropriate. Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policies and procedures.
