Stipend support provided during the initial ramp-up period until a full caseload is achieved. Responsibilities
Assess home health pediatric patient for rehabilitative and functional status.
Regularly re-evaluate the patient’s/client’s occupational therapy needs and evaluate the outcomes of care on a regular basis.
Develop, initiate, and revise the plan of care as necessary to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Identify deficits including but not limited to strength, fine motor coordination, sensory dysfunction, motor planning and self-care, including feeding; evaluate the home environment.
Evaluate the need for and recommend DME devices and aides.
Use infection control measures to protect staff and patients (OSHA).
Coordinate services; inform the physician and other personnel of changes in the patient\'s condition and needs.
Demonstrate commitment and professional growth by participating in in-service programs and maintaining or improving competency.
Supervise, teach, and provide clinical direction to other occupational therapy personnel as required or requested.
Promote agency philosophy and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.
Provide effective communication to patients/clients, their family members, team members, and other health care professionals.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Diploma, with Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree
One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a pediatric clinical care setting preferred
Pediatric Home health experience preferred
Reliable transportation
Current Texas State license as an Occupational Therapist
Current Driver’s License
