Provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding the effective use of medications and drug interaction awareness. Offers preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations, diagnostic testing, and patient outcome services. Ensures prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately according to regulatory guidelines and company policies and procedures. Manages an efficient pharmacy workflow, inventory, and patient experience. Oversees pharmacy staff performance and development through training, coaching, and formal performance management initiatives. Job Responsibilities

Patient Experience: Engages patients by greeting them and offering assistance; resolves issues to ensure a positive patient experience. Models customer service best practices and delivers an interpersonal, compassionate Walgreens service experience. Connects with patients by anticipating needs and promoting Walgreens healthcare services (e.g., patient consultation, medication management, drug therapy reviews, immunizations, diagnostic testing, and wellness services). Operations: Counsels patients on medication use, side effects, interactions, and privacy; performs pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management. Reviews and dispenses medications per regulations and policies. Oversees pharmacy workflow, staff scheduling, role assignment, and shift changes; ensures open/close procedures. Ensures Good Faith Dispensing elements align with laws for controlled substances. Collaborates with Store Manager to identify new business opportunities. Maintains IT knowledge of pharmacy systems and supports staff and patients with technology; improves productivity. Insurance & Compliance: Ensures insurance claims are processed accurately; reduces payment rejections; resolves issues with insurers/providers; follows up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions and dosages. Prepares records and documentation required by state and federal laws. People & Performance Management: Assists Store Manager with hiring, performance management, discipline, and compliance with employment laws. Sets expectations and goals, recognizes improvements, and manages career progression. Training & Personal Development: Maintains licenses/credentials; pursues ongoing professional development; completes required training and education credits; seeks feedback and mentors from Healthcare Supervisors and Store Manager. Communications & Community Relations: Communicates health and wellness services and strategy information to staff; develops relationships with local medical communities and promotes health and wellness initiatives. Business Performance & Planning: Analyzes pharmacy performance data, manages inventory and asset protection, and identifies opportunities for improvement. Builds relationships with local providers and supports community health engagement initiatives. Basic Qualifications

BS in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution. Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district. Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days of hire. At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, compliance, operations, software/technology, and insurance billing. Some states may require more specific experience. Experience with prescription dispensing and knowledge of state/federal controlled substance laws. Internal candidates: average leadership behaviors rating of at least 3.0 on the last performance review and no disciplinary actions in the last 12 months. About Walgreens
