Description
We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Critical Care. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing and treating patients with acute and life-threatening conditions, making a significant impact on their recovery and well-being. You will be involved in a variety of critical care projects, ensuring the delivery of top-notch healthcare services.
Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans. Monitor and manage critically ill patients in the intensive care unit. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Educate patients and their families on treatment plans and post-discharge care. Assist in emergency procedures and resuscitation efforts as needed. Document patient care accurately and maintain medical records. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements: Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician\'s Assistant (PA) license. Certification in Critical Care Nursing or equivalent specialization. Demonstrated experience in managing critical care patients. Strong knowledge of advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and basic life support (BLS) protocols. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Schedule: 7a-7p, 4 consecutive shifts preferred
No call required
Daily Census: 20 patients
30-bed ICU
Will assist with procedures
Support Staff: Hospitalist
EMR: Meditech
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
