We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Critical Care. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in critical situations. As a Locum NP or PA in Critical Care, you will be involved in a variety of challenging and impactful projects, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care to critically ill patients. Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop appropriate care plans.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare team.
Monitor and evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
Provide patient and family education on treatment plans and post-discharge care.
Respond effectively to medical emergencies and provide critical care interventions.
Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in critical care.
Requirements:
Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician's Assistant (PA) license.
Specialization or certification in Critical Care is preferred.
Strong knowledge of critical care practices and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and high‑pressure environment.
Demonstrated ability to make quick and accurate decisions in critical situations.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Commitment to providing compassionate and patient‑centered care.
Schedule: 7p-7a, specific dates
No call required
Setting: 18‑bed medical‑surgical ICU
Patient Volume: 12‑14 per night
Required Procedures: CVC, central lines, arterial lines, and intubations
Must be able to work independently
Support Staff: Critical care nursing, ED physician and anesthesia team available for emergent help, critical care physician on‑call
Must be board‑certified
