Description We are currently seeking a skilled Locum NP (Nurse Practitioner) or PA (Physician's Assistant) specializing in Critical Care. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced critical care environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing and treating critically ill patients, making quick decisions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

As a Locum NP/PA in Critical Care, you will be involved in a variety of challenging and rewarding projects, working closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. This role offers a unique opportunity to showcase your clinical skills, critical thinking abilities, and compassion for patients in need of intensive care.

Responsibilities:

Assess, diagnose, and treat critically ill patients under the supervision of physicians.

Monitor and manage patient progress, including interpreting diagnostic tests and adjusting treatment plans.

Perform procedures such as intubations, central line placements, and arterial lines.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in critical care.

Stay current with advancements in critical care medicine and participate in continuing education.

Requirements:

Valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license.

Certification in Critical Care or relevant specialty.

Demonstrated experience in a critical care setting, handling complex cases.

Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.

Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Schedule: Tuesday-Sunday, 7a-4p

No call requirement

Setting: Intermediate care unit (IMCU)

Patient Census: 8-12 per day

Primarily post-op CTS patients, some pre-op management

Support Staff: APP

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

Paid travel & expenses
