Summary of Job Duties:
This posting will be used to fill multiple positions. Schedule: 7A-7P or 7P-7A with rotating weekends as needed.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to assigned patients. As a professional nurse, the nursing process is utilized in the provision of care. The RN practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards. The RN provides direct patient care in the Float Division (Medical/Surgical, Critical Care, Women and Infants). The Float Division nurses work across multiple areas to support patient care in specialty units. A variety of courses are offered to prepare Float Division nurses, including Cardiac Dysrhythmia, Chemotherapy, and Critical Care courses. Clinical orientation focuses on the nurse’s needs and strengths as they are partnered with a preceptor.
All Float Division nurses receive a 25% bonus for regular, worked hours floating to different areas. The Float pool team is a dynamic group that meets the challenge of new assignments daily.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma RN, or Master’s degree in Nursing.
Must be a graduate of an accredited RN nursing program.
Current Valid RN License
Two (2) years of RN experience in respective field
Must be flexible with work schedule including weekends
Must have excellent charge/leadership skills, and basic computer skills

Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers nursing care for patients within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Arkansas and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards. The RN is responsible to adhere to the standard of care defined by UAMS, ANA, and Standards for specialty patient population with support and mentoring by other team members.
Collects and documents assessment data.
Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard.
Implements POC including medical order and interdisciplinary approach.
Evaluates the progress of patient toward attainment of desired outcomes.
Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
Administers medication per standard including drug information to patients/families.
Acts as a resource/supports others.
Delivers patient care using the principles of the defined nursing modality.
Delegates care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job description and individual level of education and training.
Contributes to a positive work environment that is conducive to clinical education while serving as a resource for student nurses and staff.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
