Plan, organize, implement, and control department activities and operations for the assigned area(s); monitor operations to ensure standards and objectives are met; develop and implement short-term plans to maintain smooth operations. Plan and schedule work, ensuring appropriate distribution of assignments and staffing based on workload and productivity standards. Supervise professional associates and students; monitor performance, set expectations, and support goal setting; develop and implement orientation, training, and education to ensure staff competence is assessed, maintained, and improved. Develop and monitor expense budgets; assist with capital budget planning to control costs and improve department operations. Maintain performance standards, quality assessment/improvement programs, and recommend procedures to improve operational efficiency and service quality. Investigate trends in radiology practices and introduce new procedures as appropriate. Ensure compliance with organizational policies; interpret and modify policies as needed. Provide leadership for educational programs for students and staff in collaboration with the radiology administrative team. Engage in professional development and participate in professional organizations; complete required continuous training for department-specific requirements. Foster good working relationships with other departments and serve as a resource and liaison with physicians for advanced problem solving related to radiology services. Education Qualifications
Associate's Degree Radiology Bachelor's Degree Radiology Bachelor's Degree Business Administration Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Administration Master's Degree Radiology Master's Degree Business Administration Master's Degree Healthcare Administration Experience Qualifications
3-5 years progressive management in radiology In lieu of three years of progressive management experience in radiology, the candidate must have a Master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration with one year of radiology management experience Skills And Abilities
Thorough knowledge of Radiology practice, procedures, and regulatory standards Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials Effective communication with all levels of Associates, management, physicians, and patients/families Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups toward goals Negotiation skills among individuals and groups including Associates, management, and physicians Ability to plan and schedule tasks and projects and to manage workflow Ability to work independently with sound judgment Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred) Licenses and Certifications
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association Registered Radiologic Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Supervision Provided
Provides direct and/or indirect supervision for Associates and students in assigned Radiology area(s). Physical Demands
