Virginia Mason Franciscan Health . This full-time clinic LPN role is based in the Franciscan OBGYN Clinic in West Seattle, WA. A sign-on bonus is available for qualifying new external Clinic LPNs.

Responsibilities

Job Summary: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other healthcare provider, provide quality practical nursing care to clinic patients within the LPN scope of practice and FMG policies. Assist providers with patient visits, perform routine nursing tasks, provide clinical support, assist with and/or perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures and tests, report nursing observations and assessments, and update information in the patient’s electronic medical record. Work with initiative within scope of practice and established standards of care; consult RN or provider for new or complex tasks.

Manage a demanding workload and deliver excellent customer service to patients and families, multidisciplinary team members, practitioners, and the public.

Prepares patients for practitioner visits: rooms patients, records vital signs and other information such as height, weight, allergies, current medications and presenting problem; chaperones and documents the exam, ensuring patient privacy and comfort.

Performs or assists with patient care, diagnostic tests and clinical procedures appropriate to the level of training and licensure, following triage orders and protocols; refers complex, urgent or emergent situations to an RN or provider.

Assists with point-of-care testing (CLIA-Waived) following established protocols.

Administers medications per written provider order; tracks and logs medication usage; inventories controlled substances as required.

Documents procedures and interactions in the patient’s medical record; enters, pends and signs orders as appropriate.

Organizes exam rooms, maintains cleanliness and restocks supplies; prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and maintains related equipment.

Cultural sensitivity and competence: demonstrates proper use of communication tools and materials and understands how culture can affect communication, collaboration and provision of care for the department's defined populations served.

Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications Education/Experience

Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing. One year of LPN work experience in a clinic setting OR two years of acute care experience.

LPN work experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Pay Range $29.38 - $43.70 / hour
