Overview
The Specialist-Mental Health (MHS) works with other members of inpatient unit staff to provide patient care in a variety of job duties, under the direct supervision of the RN, Mental Health Professional Therapist, or inpatient unit Manager or Director. Provides hospital level and focused patient care, support, and milieu management for patients with behavioral health conditions and illness. Observes and reports on patient conditions, supports therapeutic activities, collaborates with multidisciplinary treatment team in developing and modifying treatment care plans during admission and hospitalization.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Social work, Social Sciences, or Human Services are preferred fields of study. Two (2) years in an acute or residential inpatient psychiatric facility, or alternative behavioral school in a similar role. Applicable internship or practicum experience may be applied toward required years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in a child or adolescent psychiatric environment. Adult inpatient psych unit: Experience in an adult psychiatric environment.
