Learning & Tutoring Center Supervisor

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO The Supervisor reports directly to the Learning & Tutoring Center Program Manager to assist in managing the center. The work includes planning, staffing, budgeting, payroll processing, and tutoring. The Lab Supervisor manages daily operations of his or her respective lab (math/science or writing labs) and assures high quality delivery of LTC services, including tutoring, instructional software, workshops, and other academic support services that enable students to succeed and excel at Georgia State University’s Perimeter College. The Supervisor collaborates with faculty and staff to develop and implement plans to ensure that the labs meet students' evolving needs.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Effectively convey information on GSU-PC and LTC policies and procedures to students, tutors, faculty, and staff.
Direct the work of LTC tutors
Collaborate with Perimeter faculty and staff to ensure LTC services are appropriate and timely.
Recruit, hire, and train tutors. Develop and maintain tutoring schedules.
Ensure the Lab is stocked with appropriate and sufficient software, books, and other educational materials.
Develop and conduct workshops.
Assist the LTC Program Manager in planning, budgeting, staffing, evaluation, and special projects.
Approve biweekly payroll.
Assist in maintaining the LTC web site.
Make staffing, scheduling, and service decisions based on visit, tutoring, and survey data.
Tutor at peak times.
Coordinate with other GPC tutoring centers to ensure consistency of materials and services.
The position requires working knowledge in computer applications, computer operations, and word processing.
Minimum Hiring Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a combination of education and experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications
At least two years’ experience in an academic setting, either as a teacher or tutor, combined with at least one year of managerial or supervisory experience. A comparable combination of education and experience may be considered.
