$53.00 - $87.50 Responsibilities
Review prescriptions to assure accuracy, determine needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability. Provide information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper medication storage. Contribute to specialty pharmacy services focused on high-cost medications, complex therapies, rare diseases, and high-touch patient support including education, monitoring, and financial assistance. PRN Pharmacist duties in Central Pharmacy operations: accurately verify prescriptions and collaborate with central pharmacy technicians. Manage complex therapies in collaboration with health care providers. Complete initial assessment, patient education, and counseling. Provide pharmacist follow-up calls to assess side effects, adherence, and progress toward clinical goals. Complete clinical prescription review and accurate verification of prescriptions. Ensure safe handling, storage, and delivery of medications. Oversee pharmacy technicians and interns. In a retail/community setting, review, interpret, and dispense prescriptions and non-prescription medications; counsel patients on administration, side effects, storage, and questions about medications; monitor health and progress of patients on drug therapy; adapt to evolving pharmacy technology; provide supervision for pharmacy support personnel. May participate in decentralized clinical functions (direct patient interaction, chart reviews, counseling) or centralized functions (checking/dispensing medications, supervising IV room). Qualifications
In a retail/community pharmacy setting: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy. Knowledge of drugs, actions, and state/local regulations. In a medical center or institutional setting: Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy. Knowledge of drugs, actions, and state/local regulations. Hospital experience or residency preferred. License must be in good standing by the State Board of Pharmacy and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required. Benefits
