Job Location : 90 Crittenden Blvd, Rochester, New York, United States of America, 14642 Work Details : Regular, Full time, 40 hours per week Department : 500223 Radiation Oncology SMH Work Shift : UR - Day (United States of America) Compensation : $36.36 - $47.27 per hour Summary : The Radiation Therapist provides radiation therapy services as a core member of the radiation oncology treatment team, delivering prescribed treatments with total quality care under supervision as needed. Responsibilities
Participates effectively in a therapeutic team approach to provide optimum radiation therapy treatments. Delivers prescribed radiation therapy treatments to cure or improve quality of life. Administers treatment accurately and safely; monitors and reports untoward effects, reactions, therapeutic responses, and incompatibilities. Implements and delivers planned external beam, STRS, STRT, TBI, or IMRT treatments. Evaluates and assesses the physiologic and psychological response of patients to treatment daily. Documents treatment procedures, billing codes, and maintains daily treatment records. Constructs/uses immobilization and beam-direction devices to facilitate treatment delivery. Provides patient education to maximize adherence to care plan and offers family education as needed. Assists in orientation and training of new staff and students as directed by supervisors. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education & Experience
Satisfactory completion of formal radiation therapy technology education from an accredited program required Or equivalent combination of education and experience Licenses and Certifications
New York State licensure by the New York Department of Health, as per Article 35 of the Public Health Law upon hire required Non-Discrimination
