Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Consultant to lead an exploratory project aimed at identifying areas within our business where custom AI tools could deliver measurable value. This is a strategic, cross-functional role that will involve working directly with the CEO, leadership, and key operational teams to understand business needs, uncover areas of efficacy gains with AI, and evaluate where bespoke AI-based solutions could offer transformative benefits. This is an ideal opportunity for a business-savvy technologist or data-oriented problem-solver with an interest in biotech, digital transformation, and AI product development. Primary Responsibilities
Conduct a business process audit across functions (e.g., R&D, clinical operations, regulatory, quality, medical affairs, finance) Identify key high value and impact business processes that could be enhanced with AI or ML Interview internal stakeholders to gather pain points and operational insights Evaluate buy vs. build options: identify areas where custom-built AI tools are preferable to off-the-shelf solutions Create a prioritized list of AI opportunity areas based on potential ROI, feasibility, and implementation complexity Collaborate with subject matter experts to frame use cases and early technical requirements Present a final recommendation deck with short-, medium-, and long-term opportunities and next-step roadmaps for pilot development Deliver on other related projects as assigned Qualifications
Education and Certification
Bachelors or Masters degree preferred
Work Experience
Experienced AI professional with prior experience in AI architecture/opportunity scoping Understanding of AI/ML concepts, including natural language processing, predictive analytics, and data classification Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills Experience working in or with biotech, pharma, or healthcare environments Familiarity with GxP-regulated functions, clinical development, or life sciences operations Prior experience designing or building AI tools, or conducting feasibility analyses Deliverables Interview summaries / operational insights Competitive review of use of AI in biotech with similar profiles (peer group to be established) AI opportunity matrix Use case briefs for top candidates Final presentation to executive team with recommendations and roadmaps
