Clinic Assistance Perform complete physical exams, pre-operative and post-operative evaluations, and record findings. Order and interpret diagnostic studies (e.g., x-rays, MRIs, CTs, labs, Dexa scans, Doppler studies). Establish a diagnosis, determine a treatment plan, and coordinate necessary ancillary services. Consult with specialists and interventional physicians as indicated by case. Assist in reduction of fractures and dislocations. Provide minor office surgical care (e.g., toenail removal, suturing) and apply/remove casts, splints, and immobilizing devices. Administer injections, immunizations, medications, joint aspirations, wound care, and other clinic procedures. Prepare prescription orders and manage refills; assist in applying specialized orthopedic devices. Instruct patients on medications and treatment instructions; educate about orthopaedic devices. Record progress notes and transcribe orders; triage calls and provide patient education and continuity of care. Provide monitoring and continuity of care; perform independent evaluations in emergencies. Hospital Assistance Obtain pre-operative medical history and physical data for surgery patients; prepare equipment for procedures. Assist in surgery (first assist, closures, device applications) as delegated by the surgeon. Conduct hospital rounds and develop/implement treatment plans for hospitalized patients. Dictate discharge summaries; maintain a log of surgical procedures for documentation and billing. Handle first-call duties, admissions decisions, emergency scheduling, and order writing as needed. Make emergency room evaluations and inpatient consultations. Administrative Responsibilities Provide supporting documentation and coding information for services. Attend required meetings, participate in committees, and maintain professional affiliations. Maintain HIPAA privacy compliance. Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current and active licenses and certifications Excellent customer service skills Demonstrated conflict management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail Operating room experience preferred Qualifications and Employment Details
