Job Summary The Oncology Nurse Navigator serves as a patient liaison to help patients and family members “navigate” the complex healthcare system. This person works with a multidisciplinary team to provide improved comprehensive oncology services to patients. The Nurse Navigator will establish early contact with oncology patients to eliminate the barriers to timely treatment, referral and survivorship. This employee will function as an advocate, educator and counselor for oncology patients with a primary focus on malignant hematology and neuro-oncology cancer patients. The Nurse Navigator will coordinate patient access throughout the continuum of care in collaboration with any necessary clinical groups or multidisciplinary teams. They will serve as a clinical resource with expertise in oncology care management and serve as a liaison throughout the healthcare system and external community. The Nurse Navigator will work with Marketing, clinical teams and Oncology leadership to develop new services and programs by coordinating interaction between patients, physicians, staff and the community.

Required: Certifications/Licenses/Experience

Active Registered Nurse (RN) in Indiana or other compact licensed state

3-5 years of experience in the oncology field

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) complete or in process, to be obtained within 2 years

Oncology Nurse Certification (ONC) to be obtained once eligibility is met
