Position Summary City of Hope is seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our Endoscopy Department. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be part of a specialized team performing a variety of endoscopic procedures essential for diagnosing and treating medical conditions. We are committed to transforming healthcare through innovative research and exceptional patient care. Join us in making a meaningful difference.
This opportunity is for per diem shifts (minimum of 1 shift per week), with 12-hour shifts and flexible scheduling. The position is eligible for a unit differential of up to $2.23/hr.
Up to $2,000 Sign-on Bonus Available
Your responsibilities include:
Endoscopic Procedure Assistance:
Support during procedures like ERCP, bronchoscopies, colonoscopies, cystoscopies, laparoscopies, laryngoscopies, mediastinoscopies, thoracoscopies, and upper endoscopy.
Patient Advocacy:
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and understanding, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and provide emotional support.
Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians, anesthesiologists, and technologists to ensure high-quality patient care.
Infection Control:
Follow strict protocols to maintain a sterile environment.
Documentation:
Keep accurate medical records of patient conditions, medications, and complications.
Education:
Stay updated on endoscopy and nursing advancements and educate patients and families about pre- and post-operative care.
Qualifications:
Graduate from nursing school with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or a diploma/Associate Degree with current enrollment in a BSN program (must obtain BSN within two years).
Current California RN license.
At least one year of RN experience.
Perioperative experience or formal perioperative nursing course completed prior to application or within 6 months of hire.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association.
