Post Doctoral Scientist - Biomedical Imaging and Vascular Biology Research in the lab focuses on developing and validating quantitative imaging techniques for characterizing cardiovascular disease and vascular remodeling. Particular interest includes PET imaging of skeletal muscle perfusion and PET/CT-based molecular imaging of vascular inflammation and calcification in peripheral artery disease.

Job Description Summary

Conducts research, designs experiments, analyzes data, and presents findings under the mentorship of an established principal investigator or senior research scientists. Appointment up to 7 years.

Essential Functions

Designs experiments, develops protocols, and conducts research under guidance of a faculty mentor.

Assists in training and supervision of technical support staff in specific techniques essential to research program.

Records and analyzes data generated by research study. Assists in developing hypotheses for further investigation from results.

Assists with preparation of scientific and technical papers for publication in peer‑reviewed journals. Presents findings at local and national forums.

Collaborates with other ongoing research efforts at NCH or at The Ohio State University.

Works toward research independence, preparing to submit proposals to and obtain funding from external granting agencies.

Education Requirement PhD or equivalent degree in relevant field of science, required.

Skills in qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Ability to proactively manage and drive projects.

Experience Research experience from PhD program, required.
