Overview
BSW Cedar Park Clinic Rad Tech cross-training into Mammography. Must have at least 2 years of working experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Job Summary: Full Time Mon-Fri and every other weekend. Responsibilities
Perform high quality radiology procedures according to exam protocols in a timely manner. Maintain production and imaging quality by following established standards and procedures. Understand radiation dose reference levels and monitor patient dose; take appropriate actions if dose thresholds are exceeded, including follow-up when needed. Communicate with patients using AIDET principles to identify service needs, ensure correct exam on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others; inform patients and families about the test and assess tolerance. Prepare patient and area for procedures by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment, and setting exposure factors. Protect patients and staff by adhering to safety, infection-control, drug and radiation policies; use sterile techniques for invasive procedures and maintain hand hygiene. Maintain equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards; collaborate with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation. Report issues to management; assist in maintaining supplies inventory. Screen entrants to the department according to approved policies and procedures to ensure safety. Obtain, verify, and maintain relevant documentation (requisitions, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies and procedures). Maintain medical imaging records in the appropriate system and in accordance with department policies for timely interpretation. Qualifications
EDUCATION: Graduate of an Accredited Program MAJOR: Radiologic Technology EXPERIENCE: 2+ years as Radiologic Technologist CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION: ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire or transfer; Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) by the Texas State Board of Medical Radiologic Technologists Benefits
