As a private, non-profit 501(C) (3) community health organization, we serve over 350k medical, dental, and behavioral health visits from more than 77k people annually. ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
As a Neighborhood Physician, you will be part of a Care Team focused on providing the best patient experience in comprehensive medical care. Our patients expect quality treatment from caring professionals. Our values—compassion, integrity, professionalism, collaboration, and going above and beyond—guide us to deliver excellent care. Our Care Team includes physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and scribes to support each patient’s experience.
Responsibilities Direct Care: - Administers or prescribes treatments - Discusses potential side effects of medications and immunizations with patients - Advises patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention methods - Refers patients to specialists as needed - Follows up on high-risk or emergency cases - Conducts physical exams for various purposes
Provider and Team Support: - Shares accountability for patient outcomes - Builds confidence in our care and facilities - Assesses training needs and promotes staff development
Clinical Administration: - Reviews patient files and records - Records medical history - Examines patients and orders tests - Analyzes test results and diagnoses - Prescribes medications and vaccines - Documents patient visits - Maintains awareness of organizational activities - Responds to communications - Performs duties within credentials and competencies - Demonstrates courteous and accurate behavior
Customer Relations: - Maintains professional relationships - Collaborates to achieve department goals
Education/Experience - Doctorate in medicine - California Medical license in good standing - Valid DEA and CPR certifications
Additional Qualifications - Excellent communication skills - Ability to interpret instructions - Knowledge of family medicine - Ability to manage multiple tasks - Strong planning and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and in a team - Maintains confidentiality
Physical Requirements - Ability to lift/carry 10 lbs - Ability to stand for long periods
Compliance (Safety & HIPAA) - Follows safety procedures and reports hazards - Maintains knowledge of policies - Uses proper body mechanics - Knows emergency procedures - Follows infection control protocols - Maintains patient and staff privacy - Complies with integrity and security regulations - Reports unethical or unlawful activities
Neighborhood Healthcare requires full COVID-19 vaccination including a booster, with proof or approved exemption. The booster requirement depends on eligibility.
Pay Range: - Family Practice: $268k-$360k/year (DOE) - Internal Medicine: $281k-$380k/year (DOE)
