Overview This is an in-person Audiologist role focused on performing medical assessments for United States Veterans as part of the VA disability benefits process. The Veteran’s medical records are reviewed in a computer portal during the appointment. The Audiologist will conduct audiometric tests and complete a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) to form medical evidence for VA decision-making. The Audiologist will NOT prescribe any medical treatments or devices.
Responsibilities
Review Veteran files and medical records in the computer portal during appointments.
Perform a Maryland CNC Test and Puretone Audiometric test.
Complete a Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) in the computer portal.
Provide medical evidence for VA disability benefit decisions; no treatment or device prescriptions.
Typically review 3-6 Veterans per day on average.
Schedule: Full-time or Part-time positions available.
In-person position with patient time of 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes; no evenings, no on-call, no weekends, no hearing aid sales.
Qualifications
Au.D and graduation from an ASHA-accredited program.
Current license as an Audiologist.
Meets VA credentialing requirements.
