Research Associate in Synthetic Chemistry
Job Summary:
The Research Associate in Synthetic Chemistry is responsible for performing syntheses and purifications of small-molecule organic compounds to support the development of specialty chemicals under the guidance of the Synthetic Chemistry Manager. Responsibilities
Design and perform syntheses of small molecule organic species. Perform purification of said species via recrystallization, prep-HPLC, or other techniques as required. Submit compounds to the Analytical Department for analysis. Collaborate with the Analytical Department regarding results, timing and expenditures in support of all Indus projects. Collaborate with internal or external customers as required. Meticulously record all synthesis and purification actions and observations in a laboratory notebook according to Indus SOPs. Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Provide written and oral updates to external or internal customers, including the Indus Leadership Team. Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced, collaborative team. Attend all required trainings and adhere to all Indus SOPs. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a related field. 1-3 years of laboratory experience in the design and purification of small-molecule, organic species, including recrystallization and prep-HPLC. Demonstrated ability to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and externally. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced R&D and manufacturing environment. Demonstrated strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter. Seniority level
