Location : Lurie Children's at Northwestern Medicine Central DuPage Hospital (Winfield) Job Description The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works within the multidisciplinary clinical team to provide individualized patient care through history and physical assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, medication ordering, prescribing and management, formulating diagnoses and patient/family education. They promote evidenced based practice by conducting or participating in research and academic activities. Advance Practice Provider Transition into Practice Fellowship Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago offers an Advance Practice Provider (APP) transition into practice fellowship for all new graduate APPs. The APP transition into practice fellowship is designed to provide a supportive structure and strategies to facilitate the transition from the academic to clinical setting for newly hired APPs and institution to institution transition for those with experience. Essential Job Functions Provides expert clinical care, education, consultation, advocacy research, leadership and mentorship. Manages primary, acute and chronic health problems through comprehensive history and physical examination assessment and diagnosis. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures. Orders and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions and performs other therapeutic or corrective measures to treat illness and improve health status. Promotes the advancement of the profession at Lurie Children’s and the community-at-large. Collaborates and coordinates care with medical team to deliver evidenced-based care and establish best practices in clinical care. Participates in research design, implementation, and interpretation. Meets the Medical Staffs Allied Health Practitioners core measures of performance related to patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal communication skills, professionalism, and system-based practice. Performs job functions adhering to service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others. Role may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Master’s degree or higher from an accredited school appropriate for certification as a Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant. Two (2) years of relevant clinical experience is preferred. Licensure in the State of Illinois as an APRN/PA is required. Clinical privileges through credentialing by the Medical Staff Office achieved within 90 days of hire. Basic Life Support certification required. Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification and/or other specialty certification is required in some areas within 6 months of employment. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, basic computer skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Pay Range : $133,120.00-$219,648.00 Salary Benefits : Medical, dental and vision insurance, Employer paid group term life and disability, Employer contribution toward Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Accounts, Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Holidays and Paid Parental Leave, 403(b) with a 5% employer match.
