The X-Ray Technician will perform radiological duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements. Help patients feel comfortable during the entire process. Perform selected nursing, lab, administrative, and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management under the direction of a Physician, PA, or NP and concurrent with Chen/Jen medical protocols and in accordance with policies, practices and procedures and applicable regulations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Position patients under X-Ray machine, adjust immobilization devices, and provide appropriate radiation protection. Administer routine X-Ray exams; assist in physical exams; assist physician in treatment of injured patients by giving injections, changing dressings, or removing sutures under physician or nurse direction. Adjust switches regulating length and intensity of exposure. Prepare reports and maintain records of services rendered. Maintain radiological film files and storage; pull X-Rays as required for referrals and/or copying. Keep logs for X-Rays sent out for referrals. Make minor adjustments to equipment. Perform duties to achieve or exceed established service standards. Other responsibilities may include: Perform a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing personnel including procedures, injections, EKGs, phlebotomy and X-rays. Deliver quality customer service and maintain established quality control standards. Show patients to exam rooms according to company standards. Record patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner. Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies. Process appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion. Respect patient confidentiality at all times. Organize exam and treatment rooms, stock and clean rooms and sterilize instruments. Maintain quality control standards and required certifications. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to use MS Office package or similar programs. Effective communication and customer service skills. Fluent in English. Education / Specialized Knowledge Requirements
Experience working with geriatric patients. EMR system experience. High School Diploma or GED. Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant and X-Ray technician program. Medical Assistant and X-Ray certification. Education and Experience Criteria
Graduate from an accredited program for Radiological Technology or Basic X-Ray Machine Operator required Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred Minimum 1 year x-ray technologist work experience in a healthcare environment required; 2 years preferred Licensed and/or certified if required by state regulations EMR system experience preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within first 90 days of employment Pay: $23.28 - $33.25 hourly Employee Benefits
