About the Float Pool Our Float Pool unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity medical-surgical patients. The Float Pool leadership team supports learning, mentoring, and development for every team member.

Patient Population Floats between the medical-surgical and telemetry units.

Patient Ratios 5:1

Number of Beds Depends on the unit.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Lake Pointe in Rowlett, TX is a community-based hospital with the benefits of an urban medical center due to the specialties offered. The outpatient services include physical medicine, wound care, sleep center, imaging, and two free-standing Emergency Departments serving Rowlett, Forney, Wylie, and surrounding areas.

Facility Capabilities Lake Pointe is licensed for 176 beds including three medical-surgical units, ICU, Labor & Delivery, New Family Unit, Antepartum, NICU, Surgical Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Emergency Department. Designations include Level III Trauma, Chest Pain Accreditation, Primary Stroke Accreditation, Maternal and Level III NICU. Nursing is progressing toward Pathways to Excellence with Magnet designation anticipated after completion.

Qualifications

A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience.

A minimum of one year of nursing experience.

A valid Registered Nurse license.

The ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first 30 days of employment.
