Job Summary The Labor and Delivery Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe operating room environment, proper functioning of equipment, and maximization of patient safety during procedures. Surgical technologists possess expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the use of implementation tools and technologies to assist physicians in invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or Military Training Equivalent (68D - Operating Room Specialist). Online Surgical Tech program credits are not accepted. Previous Surgical Technologist experience is preferred. Current Surgical Tech Certification is preferred.
