Position Medical Materiel Specialist III (LEAD)

About the position: The Medical Materiel Specialist ensures all assets in medical War Readiness Materiel (WRM) allowance standards are accounted for and managed, establishes levels for specific WRM assets on approved WRM assemblages, calculates and documents basis of issue for mass casualty first aid bed expansion and force health protection programs, manages and exercises deferred procurement programs, and ensures all assigned WRM assemblages are inventoried IAW regulatory requirements. Develop a WRM acquisition plan in advance of funding allocation; ensure WRM assemblages are stored as required; develop activation checklists for logistics activities; brief medical readiness committee on materiel status of all assigned contingency projects; conduct self-inspections; maintain shelf-life extension program; maintain support agreements; and maintain WRM continuity files.

Duties/Responsibilities

General warehousing tasks, customer support, requisition, shipping, receiving, building medical kits, inventory management, QA and cargo preparation and deployment, including medical controlled items stored in a secure location; operation of various material handling equipment; and updating DoD MMIS records.

Advanced understanding of inventory management and medical logistics support instructions, policies, and regulations.

Working independently at single location sites and oversight of other onsite contractor staff; coordinate logistics activities with base organizations, units, and government agencies to ensure readiness and availability of unit ECMM, including general medical materiel management and warehouse activities.

Supervision and overall operational responsibility for medical logistics functions including advanced medical supply chain activities and biomedical equipment maintenance.

Oversee Medical Materiel Specialists Level I and II activities and coordinate with the COR.

Train, mentor and/or supervise staff.

Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Must possess and maintain Secret Security Clearance.

Travel up to 25% of the time.

Required Skills/Abilities

Specialized experience including supervision and operational responsibility for medical logistics functions (general medical supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, warehousing and operation of material handling equipment); report development; analyzing logistics functions; and biomedical equipment maintenance.

Experience in a healthcare or healthcare support setting with a comprehensive understanding of medical WRM/MC-CBRN/HSMR program management and ECMM operation execution of Class VIII medical supply sustainment.

Must obtain annual influenza inoculations.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in business or logistics related field or 10 years medical logistics experience. MMIS assemblage management knowledge (expertise).

10 years of Medical Logistics field experience.
