As a Production Supervisor, you will lead a team of skilled or semi-skilled workers (Material Handlers and Operators) engaged in processing, maintenance, and warehousing functions for our Temecula, California Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST) business. The Production Supervisor has authority and accountability to select, train, and direct their workforce, employing key company processes to achieve results. You are responsible for employee engagement and maintaining positive employee relations. This role is often held by an entry-level or early-career leader gaining initial operations management experience at STERIS.

This is a working supervisor role in warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and production areas. Work Schedule

Day Shift:

Three 12-hour shifts and one 6-hour shift, working 3.5 days per week. Schedule:

Wed 12 pm to 6 pm; Thurs, Fri & Sat 6 am to 6 pm. Responsibilities

Develop a shop floor culture focused on Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC), emphasizing waste elimination and standard work. Lead daily SQDC board meetings, train and develop employees, ensure safety through behavior and equipment monitoring, incident response, mitigation, investigation, and providing feedback. Identify opportunities for countermeasures and participate in lean committees. Support Lean initiatives through participation in Kaizen events, IDEaS generation and implementation, TPM, OTOG Customer Service training, and the “What’s in the Box?” orientation program. Be the first point of contact for safety, quality, delivery, and cost issues, participate in quality audits, and support OTOG events. Enhance employee engagement via Lean processes, foster positive relations, address concerns, enforce policies, and manage performance. In union environments, understand and enforce collective bargaining agreements. Assist in interviewing and selecting new employees, ensure proper staffing and skills, assign daily tasks, and facilitate shift transitions. Assess skills and performance regularly, address gaps, and ensure team capability to meet expectations. Collaborate across functions such as Quality, HR, and Planning. Monitor processing during shifts to ensure safety, quality, and delivery; track KPIs and update SQDC boards. Qualifications

Required: High School Diploma and at least 3 years of STERIS Operations experience or 5 years of related external operational experience. Qualified Equipment Operator or willingness to get certified. Ability to learn sterilization modalities. Basic math skills. Effective communication for team meetings. Delegation, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Preferred: Minimum of 2 additional years of supervisory experience in regulated environments (ISO, FDA, GMP). Benefits
