Summary of Position The Project and Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting machinery quotations, developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for solar panel / PV module production and leading continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities also include overseeing projects, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring compliance with standards. The individual also coaches and trains team members and develops SOPs, SWIs, and PFMEA for new production lines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Develop and maintain processes for stringing, lamination, framing, and final testing. Support the quotation of machinery or equipment required for the processes. Identify and implement kaizen projects to improve productivity and efficiency. Monitor yields, scrap, and OEE; lead root cause analysis and corrective actions. Project management: developing timelines, budgets, and scope of work for projects. Projects and process improvements: drive cost reduction, throughput improvement, and operator training. Collaborate with the Operations Team on program deliverables. Implement SPC, PFMEA, and control plans; maintain compliance with UL/IEC and ISO standards. Support plant equipment install / debug / launch / continuous improvement. Actively participate in meetings with the plants to support and meet project deliverables. Support equipment qualification, recipe optimization, and automation improvements. Process equipment evaluation to implementation. Ensure equipment and systems comply with relevant standards and legislation. Establish equipment installation board and review weekly/daily with OEM and contractors. Develop and lead trial runs at all sites. Coaching / mentoring / training of newer or less experienced team members. Lead the development of standard operating procedures (SOP) and standard work instructions (SWI). Lead the development of value stream maps (VSM) for production lines across all sites. Responsible for the PFMEA for new production lines. Qualifications

Required Skills/Abilities : Familiarity with MES, CAD, and statistical tools. Familiarity with design standards in the US (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70) and an understanding of safety systems design. Experience working with and troubleshooting robotics/controls systems, Control Logix PLCs, and plant application controls and automation. Clear and concise communication in technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration. Strong organizational skills and a high level of self-motivation. Strong logical and methodical reasoning capabilities. Adaptability: comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment. Teamwork: works effectively with operators, technicians, and cross-functional teams. Ownership: takes initiative and drives projects to completion with minimal supervision. Ability to work overtime and weekends when required. Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and HMIs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex issues. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD software. Ability to effectively work with external machine builders and system integrators for detailed design, build, and integration of later stages of machine system implementation. Education and Experience B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical or related engineering field. 3+ years in high-volume automated manufacturing; PV or electronics experience preferred. Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, Lean/Six Sigma, and structured problem solving. PV module process experience (stringing, lamination, EL/flash testing) preferred. Knowledge of UL 61730, IEC 61215, and ISO 9001 systems preferred. Experience with automation, robotics, and NPI launches preferred. Additional Information
