PE Engineer I - J0048323 at Astemo Ltd. This role is part of the xEV Regional Power Electronics Engineering (PE) group and supports activities related to xEV products, equipment layouts, parts flow, and technical documentation for programs related to xEV products. Responsibilities
Provide Line and Plant Layouts for new Production Lines Assist other PE engineers with preparing documents required for line verification at start-up Assist other PE Engineers in setting up testing trials/experiments for customer/internal troubles, including countermeasure activity as needed Support development and research of new technologies Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Skills)
4 Year College Degree in related field technical field or equivalent experience and education Knowledge of computer systems and spreadsheets necessary to perform job duties Ability to make quick, accurate, data driven decisions and utilize excellent problem-solving skills Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.) and Excel and PowerPoint Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Must have transportation to and from local facility. (Not a remote position) Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, And Skills)
4Yr university engineering degree or related field Work experience within automotive industry, with emphasis in electro/mechanical devices Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors Knowledge of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, etc. Experience in electronics manufacturing Essential To Job Functions – Physical And/or Mental Restrictions
Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen Software
Intermediate experience in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Experience in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or other) Project Management Software preferred (MS Project) Description Of Duties And Responsibilities – Time Allocation
Support PE group with documentation preparation for launch of new xEV manufacturing production lines — 50% Support preparation of equipment layouts for xEV products — 15% Support development and research of new technologies — 15% Support M/P equipment problems and develop solutions — 15% Other duties as assigned to support corporate objectives — 5% Skills And Abilities
Ability to exercise good judgment, be highly motivated and work independently Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy Maintains a clean and orderly work environment Interacts with various levels of associates in a professional manner Strong written and verbal communication skills and growth towards communicating to all levels within the organization Work Environment
